ORGANIC T-SHIRTS · PRIVATE LABEL

Private-label organic cotton T-shirt manufacturer in Turkey: a buyer’s product brief

A useful T-shirt manufacturing enquiry defines the garment before it asks for price or timing. Buyers should specify the fit, jersey direction, neckline, construction, artwork and branded components, then confirm what material evidence can support the exact order. This gives a Turkish private-label manufacturer a real product to assess instead of a request for a generic organic tee.

Define the T-shirt silhouette before discussing fabric

State whether the style is regular, relaxed, oversized, cropped or another defined silhouette. Add garment measurements, the intended wearer, size range and a reference sample or technical drawing. Shoulder position, body width, length, sleeve shape and neck opening should be measurable decisions rather than adjectives alone.

If the range contains several fits, create a separate style reference for each one. A single sample cannot reliably approve an oversized unisex tee, a fitted women's style and a children's basic at the same time.

  • Front and back technical views
  • Point-of-measurement table and tolerances
  • Target size range and grading reference
  • Reference sample with written keep/change notes

Write a jersey specification that matches the product

Organic cotton describes a fibre direction, not the complete fabric. The brief should identify the intended jersey construction, composition, target weight where known, stretch or recovery needs, opacity, surface feel and wash expectations.

A lighter promotional tee, structured heavyweight style and close-fitting product create different fabric questions. Review the proposed material as a made garment because a swatch cannot show neckline behaviour, drape, seam appearance or dimensional change in the finished silhouette.

Control the neckline and construction details

Neck rib, binding method, shoulder tape, side seams, hems and stitch type affect how a T-shirt looks and performs. Include these details in the tech pack and show any construction feature that must match an existing brand standard.

During sample review, check neck shape, rib recovery, seam balance, twisting, hem appearance and the relationship between the approved measurements and the actual fit. Record feedback against a named measurement or construction point so the next sample has an unambiguous instruction.

Treat printing, embroidery and colour as product specifications

Supply final artwork files, dimensions, placement references and colour information for every decoration. Explain whether the artwork should be assessed for hand feel, coverage, registration or another product-specific result, and approve it on the selected fabric and colour rather than as a screen image alone.

Garment colour, print colour and branded components should be reviewed together. Keep the approved artwork version and placement reference with the product file so an earlier draft cannot become the production instruction.

Verify organic wording against the actual order

Before using an organic or certification-related statement on a product page, care label, hangtag or packaging, ask what documentation applies to the selected fabric, processing route and supply-chain scope. A general supplier statement or fabric description should not automatically be extended to every finished-garment claim.

Give the manufacturer the exact customer-facing wording the brand plans to use and retain the confirmed evidence with the bill of materials. If the evidence or scope is not clear, keep the wording factual and delay the broader claim until it can be verified.

Approve the T-shirt as a complete retail product

Review the sample for measurements, fit, fabric, neckline, seams, colour, decoration, neck and care labels, size identification, hangtags and packaging. The approval reference should represent the product the customer will receive, not only the undecorated garment.

Keep the signed-off sample, measurement table, bill of materials, artwork files and component references under the same style code and version. This creates a clearer baseline for later colourways or repeat programmes.

Send an RFQ that can receive an order-specific answer

Include styles, quantities by colour and size, destination market, tech packs or references, fabric direction, artwork, labels, packaging and the decisions still open. Ask the manufacturer to identify missing information and the appropriate sample route before treating MOQ, price or lead time as fixed values.

Konsey Organic can review a T-shirt tech pack, reference sample or structured product brief and identify the material, development and private-label questions that belong to the specific programme. Commercial and documentation details should then be confirmed for that order.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask

What should a private-label T-shirt tech pack include?+

Include garment views, measurements, size range, jersey direction, neckline and construction details, colours, artwork, labels, packaging and destination-market requirements.

Is organic cotton enough to define the T-shirt fabric?+

No. Buyers should also define the jersey construction, composition, target weight or feel, stretch and recovery where relevant, colour and wash expectations.

When should print or embroidery be approved?+

Approve decoration on the selected fabric and garment colour during sampling, using the final artwork version, dimensions and placement reference.

Can a buyer use a certification claim before the order is confirmed?+

Only wording supported by documentation confirmed for the exact material, processing route, product and supply-chain scope should be used.
